For the third summer, Nitehawk Cinema and Tribeca have partnered to present a curated series of four documentaries by New York filmmakers from the Tribeca Film Festival.
The series will open with the jury prize winner for Best Documentary Feature Do Not Resist by director Craig Atkinson. Atkinson’s directorial debut shines a light on the rapid militarization of police in America. Next, the series presents Jenny Gage’s All This Panic, which follows two sisters and their friends over the course of three years in New York, a peek inside the life of artist Maurizio Cattelan in Maura Axelrod’s Maurizio Cattelan: Be Right Back and Vanessa Gould’s Obit, which lifts the veil on the fascinating writers behind The New York Times obituaries. Each screening will include a Q&A with the film’s director.
