Nitehawk celebrates the reigning queen of independent cinema with our retrospective series THE WORKS: CHLOË SEVIGNY.
Since her debut in 1995 with Kids, Chloë Sevigny has been an American cultural icon with a career involving work with auteur filmmakers, roles in visionary films and in complex television series, fashion and art. Throughout April, this curated series highlights Sevigny’s inclusion in eleven seminal films from the past two decades and features her latest role as director with two recent short films.
The series includes a special event with Chloë Sevigny in conversation with Karin Nelson (Senior Features Editor, W Magazine). With a 35mm screening of her short films KITTY and CARMEN and the feature BOYS DON’T CRY.
Films include: TREES LOUNGE, BOYS DON’T CRY, KIDS, THE LAST DAYS OF DISCO, #HORROR, MELINDA AND MELINDA, PARTY MONSTER, AMERICAN PSYCHO, LOVE & FRIENDSHIP, ZODIAC, and BROKEN FLOWERS along with two shorts films directed by Sevigny, KITTY and CARMEN.
